Mr Patel has been practising since 1983 and has been with the London Bridge Hospital since 1996. He is a Fellow of the College of Podiatric Surgeons (UK), with keen interest in sports medicine. He works in the NHS as well as in the private sector and lectures at national and international level. He also performs foot operations.

Mr Patel is director of London Foot Clinic, a diagnostic centre for Biomechanics & motion analysis. He has special interest in biomechanics and gait analysis and its role in management and prevention of musculo-skeletal disorders, sports and occupational injuries. He treats amateur, professional, national and international sports participants. At the London Bridge hospital he works very closely with the multi-disciplinary medical and surgical teams and is a key member of the City Sports Clinic.
